| Moriah and Rachel are home |
[Dec. 16th, 2008|07:04 pm] |
Hi All, Sorry I haven't written sooner. Getting to a computer in the last few days has been a challenge. Rachel, Moriah and I were discharged from the hospital on Sunday, and are home and safe. Everyone's doing well. Rachel has a touch of jaundice, which is thankfully clearing up. She was REALLY tired for the first few days. So much so that waking her for feedings was a chore, and still is a little. But everything else seems totally normal and healthy. If anyone wants to stop by for a visit, feel free to call and see if it's a good time. Moriah would be happy to have a little company. Don't be offended if she says "not now". It's not that we don't like you, it's just that things are off-and-on hectic all the time. Oh, and if you're at all sick, or getting over being sick, please wait 'till you're healthy. And please try not to bring your kids if they go to school or day-care. I'm sure you know better than I do that those places are pitri dishes, and we're trying to keep that stuff away from her until she's on a good growth track.
Love to all! Dave |

| And it begins... |
[Dec. 12th, 2008|08:55 am] |
Rachel Ebba Gornstein arrived, after a 36+ hour trial, at 07:11am on Friday, December 12. She came in at 5 pounds 15 ounces, 19 1/4 inches, with a thick head of dark brown hair on her cone shaped head. True to the fine procrastinating tradition of the Gornsteins, she crowned with a mere 20 minutes remaining before the OB would have insisted on a C-section. But she did manage to deliver vaginally.
Mother and baby are healthy and alert. Rachel was even breast feeding within the first 15 minutes after birth. Smart and beautiful. Like her dad. I mean her mom.
I'll find a way to get pictures out as soon as I can get them from the camera to the computer.
Love to all, David, Moriah and Rachel Ebba. |

| From the jackass that did this to her... |
[Dec. 11th, 2008|04:06 pm] |
Hey Y'all, this is Dave Gornstein
Sorry for cross posting this... everywhere. Moriah's in labor. Yes, it's about a month early. No, that's not a problem. Everyone's healthy. Moriah's contracting, effacing, dilating, and all that other good stuff. Unborn Rachel is doing great. Daddy gets his tax break early.
We're asking for no visitors in the hospital. Definitely not before the birth. Probably not after, either, until we get home. I'll ask that you not call me or Moriah, either, until after I announce the birth. We'll both be busy until then. Don't hesitate to send well wishes and other messages electronically, though. I'll try to read them to Moriah between contractions.
I'll announce again after the baby's born! |

Copy this sentence into your livejournal if you're in a heterosexual marriage and you don't want it "protected" by the bigots who think that gay marriage hurts it somehow.
Or if you're in a heterosexual relationship, for that matter. link |

Baby Tubs Why would I need one versus a sink? What are the advantages?
I need this to convince my husband of a need due to my discomfort of using our sink.

I am having a bit of a Pennsic clothing crisis. I have grown bigger due to pregnancy and increased appetite. Therefore many of my clothes are not fitting me. I do not sew due to a history of very frustrating unpleasant moments. Dave will be making me a coupld of Gwazie Coats. Does any body have any middle eastern period garb that may fit me that I could borrow?
Let me know Thanks and Love, Moriah |

| You Are a Werewolf | You're unpredictable, moody, and downright freaky. You seem sweet and harmless, until you snap. Then you're a total monster. Very few people can predict if you're going to be Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde. But for you, all your transformations seem perfectly natural.
Your greatest power: Your ability to tap into nature
Your greatest weakness: Lack of self control

You're The Poisonwood Bible!
by Barbara Kingsolver
Deeply rooted in a religious background, you have since become both isolated and schizophrenic. You were naively sure that your actions would help people, but of course they were resistant to your message and ultimately disaster ensued. Since you can see so many sides of the same issue, you are both wise beyond your years and tied to worthless perspectives. If you were a type of waffle, it would be Belgian.

| Pennsic War What to Say |
[Aug. 13th, 2007|05:28 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | numb | ] | Well I drove down with Keshet/Luna. Ready to leave the world of miserable job in Mundania. I was ready to dance the nights away with an African Middle Eastern Fusion. Well it had taken maybe three days for me to fully feel inpsired. I was too bust self critiquing as well as listening to the world around me and not to myself. I went through this I can't find my own Niche thing and it felt mighty crappy. I wanted to act more but didn't get around to it. I wanted to perform in the expo but didn't learn the dances in time. So most of the time I spent wandering, contemplating, reading and drinking coffee. I realize now that I need to continue to act, dance more and create while at Pensic because otherwise I feel lost. For awhile,I just tried to embrace myself and this was nice, there was much inspiration and merriment. However I kept searching for something and I don't know what. Phaiden and I had beautiful times together with much erotica and love, with some sneakiness here and there. It was as if it was our first Pensic War in that regard. I was very wet this war and not in the good way as Phaiden would say. However when the rain subsided, the magic for me had returned. There was much dancing, laughter wandering, sweet mead, cute men with shrimp, massages, and music. I then felt good again but then I had to go. Now I am here and bleh. |

| I AM A NINE |
[Jun. 3rd, 2007|10:44 pm] |
Your Score: 9 - the PeacemakerThanks for taking the test !you chose BX - your Enneagram type is NINE (aka "The Mediator")
"I am at peace"
Peacemakers are receptive, good-natured, and supportive. They seek union with others and the world around them. How to Get Along with Me
- If you want me to do something, how you ask is important. I especially don't like expectations or pressure.
- I like to listen and to be of service, but don't take advantage of this.
- Listen until I finish speaking, even though I meander a bit.
- Give me time to finish things and make decisions. It's OK to nudge me gently and nonjudgmentally.
- Ask me questions to help me get clear.
- Tell me when you like how I look. I'm not averse to flattery.
- Hug me, show physical affection. It opens me up to my feelings.
- I like a good discussion but not a confrontation.
- Let me know you like what I've done or said.
- Laugh with me and share in my enjoyment of life.
What I Like About Being a NINE
- being nonjudgmental and accepting
- caring for and being concerned about others
- being able to relax and have a good time
- knowing that most people enjoy my company; I'm easy to be around
- my ability to see many different sides of an issue and to be a good mediator and facilitator
- my heightened awareness of sensations, aesthetics, and the here and now
- being able to go with the flow and feel one with the universe
What's Hard About Being a NINE
- being judged and misunderstood for being placid and/or indecisive
- being critical of myself for lacking initiative and discipline
- being too sensitive to criticism; taking every raised eyebrow and twitch of the mouth personally
- being confused about what I really want
- caring too much about what others will think of me
- not being listened to or taken seriously
NINEs as Children Often
- feel ignored and that their wants, opinions, and feelings are unimportant
- tune out a lot, especially when others argue
- are "good" children: deny anger or keep it to themselves
NINEs as Parents
- are supportive, kind, and warm
- are sometimes overly permissive or nondirective

| | content | ] | So I missed Wicked Faire this time to see beautiful In_This_Guise dance. I went to the last Faire and while the event was eh, the dancing was wonderful and inspiring.
I have been picking my life up again and while I have felt better, I have been rehearsing for my play, loving my husband as he has been gushing over me about said play.(Sorry about that)
I was given the honor to watch the amazing little pirate and learned to fence with foam swords. Thankyou Shellfly!
It is my birthday next weekend and on Friday I am eating at Copa(Sp) on South Street and then going to Sex Dwarf. On Sunday I am going to the Baltimore Aquarium to observe sea horses.
My goal is to have people at our house for dinner in March when we have gotten more furniture. Good bye for now.

| LEading Role |
[Jan. 28th, 2007|10:55 am] |
Finally, after years, nay decades, of pouring her heart out on stage, busting her chops, taking her licks, Moriah Spector Gornstein has earned what she's always wanted: A STARRING ROLE!!! The play is one that she's been excited about since she first heard about it almost a year ago. It is called A Shayna Maidel by Barbara Lebow. Two Jewish sisters separated in childhood, one raised in America, the other in Poland, are reunited in New York City in 1946 in the wake of World War II and the Holocaust. After a fifteen-year separation and loss of most family members, they are almost as strangers, and struggle to reconnect. Moriah plays the part of Rose Weiss, the younger sister, now a young New York career woman eager to hide her Jewish heritage, but forced to face her past with the arrival of her sister, Lusia Weiss Pechenik, a survivor of a Nazi concentration camp. No, it's not a comedy. Yes, it's gonna be great anyway. Give Moriah a big hug and a hearty congratulations the next time you talk to her. She's earned it. And if you get the chance, come see the show. The play opens on Friday, April 20 and runs for three weeks. It will be at The Stagecrafters Theater in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia. I'll probably see it eight or nine times, so you'll likely see me there. If you want more information, talk to me or Moriah, or go the theater's website: http://www.thestagecrafters.org Woohoo!
